The New York Academy of Medicine is home to one of the nation’s most significant historical libraries in medicine and public health, with an extensive rare book collection.
Created in for the use of the New York Academy of Medicine’s fellows, the Library opened to the general public in The HLSP fulfills the information needs of hospital administrative, allied health, medical, nursing, and support staff and promotes inter-disciplinary library environments.
The HLSP was formed in by the New York State Legislature and is a critical connection to current healthcare information access. 25, miles to provide library services to rural community hospitals and urban medical centers.
Administration WNYLRC administers the HLSP which is funded in part by a grant from New York State Department of Education, Division of Library Development, and by hospital participation fees.
